(INTROSPECTION) These new studies are the result of a continued approach, guided by a reflection of previous findings, resulting in works of a larger scale as they move closer to familiar typologies. Continuing to embrace the simplicity of low-fi tools with a sensitivity to materials, a process born out of introspection resulting in sculptural form studies has been pushed to realize primitive functional forms..

(WHY?) These samples result from Cordon Salon’s ongoing investigations into the fluidity of metal and the decorative potential of
steel surfaces.
Evolving from a research fellowship supported by the International Specialist Skills Institute, these samples utilise specialised techniques adopted from armour-making crafts.
The resulting blend of historical and contemporary methods seeks to find new approaches that will form the basis of the evolving body of work, intended to foster a deeper connection between tradition and modern artistry.

(DESIRE) Can plastics and forever chemicals be forged into recycled materials of desirability and valueFor SOME THINGS, Edward presents his continuing investigations into methods of recontextualizing waste, including several collaborative projects. PolyOnyx is a collaboration with Designer and Plastics Researcher Maxwell Carr which looks to develop a range of plastic materials and compositions that recall the beauty of rare stones, asking the question, do we need to dig up the Earth when we can simply raid our trash?
Cast combination metals and experimental patinas, with Some Other World Studio and Indigo TolhurstAgain, to create desire for recycled metals through design and experimental surface treatment techniques, to push the boundaries of cast metal aesthetics, to enhance the perceived value of reclaimed waste.
